Let’s face it, a lot of the time the things we desire or lust over are usually things we think we want but are in fact images of success projected from other peoples perception of what success is.
Our close network of friends and family, media, social norms and everything we come into contact which affects our perception of what we want.
The truth is that a lot of the time, we don’t know what we want. This, in turn, causes us to become lost without a path to pursue.
So we wake each day and plod through from one hour to the next aimlessly before yet another day passes and you have achieved nothing towards anything.
With no plan and half-hearted goals, we don’t have faith in what can be achieved and therefore we try nothing as we don’t know what we want to aim for.
It’s a vicious circle and until you decide to do something about it, it will own your time and time again.
Until you say…
Enough is ENOUGH!
So you are reading this as you want something for your future.
But you are unsure what path is truly YOURS… correct?
With all the noise it can be difficult to sift through all the nonsense to start writing your narrative.
So how you differentiate between what you want, and what you think you want?
We all need purpose and that comes from knowing who we are and what we want.
The question is…Who are YOU & what is YOUR goals?
Let’s begin by writing down EVERYTHING that you think you want from the next 10 years.
Sit down with a pen and paper in a place without distractions.
Spend as long as you need writing down as many things as you can think of.
What do you want from the next 10 years
List absolutely everything that comes to mind regardless of how silly it may be.
Properly go at this with everything possible so that you have as big a list as your imagination can muscle
Girlfriend, house, porche, mansion, better relationships with your kids, list absolutely everything.
Here was mine:
Now, ask yourself with an open mind:
- Do I really want this, or does someone close to me want this for me or themselves?
- Did I really want this, or is this societies impression of success?
- Is this something I want to own, or would I be just as happy experiencing it?
- Will This bring about purpose in your life?
Go ahead, give it a try.
Once you know what you want, you have a better understanding of what to do to achieve it!
It’s in this method we learn about ourselves and who we are.
Live with purpose x
